New Challenge #73 at Glitter n Sparkle

Hi all,
Life is going on and
its been a hard couple of weeks,
but think I am finally getting back on top of things.

Had my youngest 'step-daughter'
stop at the weekend,
and she decided to join me in getting crafty.
I will put on her project after.

Anyway here is my project for this week:-
(sorry about the picture it was the best I could do)

My project for this week is:-

Mermaid with Pearls in Kelp digi stamp
from Aurora Wings
(one of our sponsors)

To begin with I cut my base Card from
 A4 Fuchsia Pink Card
(stash),
folded it in half and trimmed it down
to make it 18cm high.

Next I cut a rectangle (14 x 17cm)
from Iridescent Metallic Blue Paper
(Craft Planet),
which I layered on my Base Card.

Then I got a strip of
Copper Textured Fibre Paper
(stash),
around 6cm wide which I tore in half,
to make 4cm and 2cm strips.
Then glued the 4cm wide strip
onto the Blue paper at the bottom.

I coloured in my Image
using my Promarker Pens.
               Seaweed -    Moss, Pear Green,
                                   Caramel (shading)
                                   Coral.
               Body -          Amethyst, Cyan (Scales)
                                   Pastel Green.
Face -          Duck Egg, Cool Aqua (shading)
                                   Pastel Green.
               Eyes -          Lavender.
               Ears -           Amethyst, Cyan (Scales)
                                   Duck Egg (Outside Edge)
                                   Lilac, Dusky Rose (Inside Sections)
Hair -            Slate, Amethyst, Lilac, Lavender.
               Nails -          Magenta.
               Crown -        Gold, Poppy, Burgundy.
               Earrings -     Gold, Magenta .
               Bangle -       Gold.
               Ribbon -       Burgundy.
               Pearls -         Ivory.

Then I cut the image out
and placed it on to the blue background.

Then glued the remaining
2cm strip of Copper Paper on top,
just so the torn edge overlaps
the bottom of the image.

To finish off I used a glue pen
and free-hand drew some 'Seaweed'
on the Blue Paper and
put on some Green Glitter
(PaperChase).
And for the Pearls on the
Mermaid's Neck and in her Hair
I used White Smoke Glitter
(Craft Planet).

I'd like to enter this Card in the following Challenges:-

Delicious Doodles DT Call

Hi there
Well as I was doing the browsing of my Fave Blogs
for Admiration and Inspiration,
I noticed that one of my Favourite Designers,
Teri at Delicious Doodles
had a call out for new DT members.

Although I am still in my 1st year of Carding,
and am still building my materials and experience up,
I thought I would have a go and try out for the Team.

I am fairly flexible on my styles as I make cards for
'In the Moment'.
Though I am partial to all things fantasy
Light or Dark.

Here are 3 of my Personal Cards that I have  done
just for the fun of making them.

This First Card I have done is the
'I'm Not A Goth' Image,
(which I have done ready for a niece's Birthday)
I stuck to the Blues and Grey/Blacks,
and accented with Black Lace, Blue Gem and Blue Glitter.

This Second Card I have used the
'Dragon Dreams' Image.
I made this for myself as I love all things Dragons.
I was given the Green Diamond Backing Paper
and knew it would go with the image,
Also I had just bought the X-Cut Diamond Boarder Punch,
so as a true crafter I had to try it out.

The Third Card was made using the
'Earth Mother' Image.
Here I wanted to make a kind of Spring feeling card.
The Browns for the Earth,
Light Green for the new growths of plants,
Orange for Rustic and Nature,
and the Yellow Roses for sunshine.

I do have a couple of others on my blog here,
so if you want to have a look please feel free.

So I would just like to say Good Luck
to all who apply,
and Thank-you for the opportunity.

New Challenge #72 at Glitter n Sparkle

Hi,
Well this has been a week
of mixed emotions.
My Nephew has finally arrived
safe and sound and is so adorable,
but unfortunately my grandmother
passed away 2 days later.
She was a wonderful person and
I will miss her greatly,
though she will always be in my
heart and memories.
This weeks card was made with both of these
special occasions in mind.

The Purple Roses are to signify a few things
as well as being a romantic card.
Love at First Sight (for my Nephew),
but also Enchantment, Magic,
Opulence, Glory and Majesty
(all which to me are for my Grandmother).

Anyway here is my project for this week:-
(sorry about the picture it was the best I could do)

The Theme at
Glitter n Sparkle is:-

My project for this week is:-

Rosie digi stamp
from Delicious Doodles
(one of our sponsors)

To begin with I cut my base Card from
 A4 Amythest Card
(stash)
and trimmed it down to make it 14cm square.
I also cut out a 13cm square from
Lilac Card
(stash).

Using the 2nd largest Scalloped Oval Die
(X-Cut Nesting Dies (5pk))
I die-cut out Black Card
(stash).
Also from the Black Card I die-cut out
Scalloped Edge Border Die
(X-Cut Border Dies (3pk))

I coloured in my Image
using my Promarker Pens.
Roses - Slate, Maroon, Amethyst, Lilac.
Leaves - Moss, Pear Green, Apple.
Skin - Blush, Vanilla, Satin.
Hair - Gold, Mustard, Buttercup, Pastel Yellow.
Cheeks - Dusky Pink.
Lips - Slate.
Eye-shadow - Lilac.
Nails - Maroon.
Dress - Lavender.
Then I die cut it out using the same
Scalloped Oval Die as the Black Card,
and placed it on to fit.

To follow the Sketch
I put the Scalloped Border at the bottom
and using a Purple/Gold Flowered Embroidered Ribbon
(Boyes Haberdashery)
wrapped around the Lilac Card
 for the second line.
Placing the layered Digi Stamp on top of them.

For my sentiment I used a 'Cherish' Peel-off Sticker
(stash)
which I backed onto a spare piece of the Amethyst Card.
And for the corners
I used Gold Filigree Corner Peel-Offs
(stash).

Aurora Wings 'Sisterhood'

Hello again
This is my second Blog today.
and here I would like to show you
my Card that I have made from Aurora Wings,
by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.
I just so love all her Fantasy Art.

She is starting a new Blog, starting 17th March.
I can't wait to see all the stunning Creations.

Anyway here is my card:-

I have used the free digi stamp
Mitzi has kindly gifted to followers
of her blog
called 'Sisterhood'

I've used an A4 Dark Brown Card
(stash)
as my base card,
which is folded in half.

I then used a Mottled Medium Brown Card
(Stash)
which I cut to fit the face of the base card
but trimmed 2cm off one edge.

At the bottom of the Mottled Card,

I Heat Embossed a Flourish
(Hot Off The Press - Paperpizazz)
using Copper Embossing Powder
(Papermania).
And I then wrapped a strip of 2.5cm Antique Cream Lace
(Boyes Haberdashery)
around the left side of the mottled card.

For My Image,

I first tore it into a rectangle (around the image),
then using a cold Teabag
(after making my man a nice cup of Tea),
I stained all around the image of the girl.
( I have never tried this before,
so I'm so glad it turned out ok)
Once it had dried I then coloured the image in
using my Promarker Pens.

To finish my card off I added some

Very Small Flat-back Clear Crystals
(stash)
and Medium Flat-backed Brown Gems
(Stash)
which I alternatively placed along her headpiece,
along with a Flat-Backed Clear Crystal Teardrop
(last one in my stash)
for the centre piece.
And a Medium Flat-back Pale Brown Crystal
(stash)
for her earring.
And finally but not least I added Cream Paper Roses
(Craft Shop - SIL),
which I have edged the petals in
3D Iridescent Glitter Glue
(Glitz It)
Just to give them a bit of sparkle.

I'd like to enter this Card in the following Challenges:-

New Challenge #71 at Glitter n Sparkle

Hello again
Yep I'm still waiting for my Nephew
I think he's nice and snug and comfy.
Don't think he likes all the cold weather
at the moment in Denmark.
(And I told my Brother that Baby
might come 2 weeks early .....
Oooopps)

Anyway here is my project for this week:-

The Theme at
Glitter n Sparkle is:-
Valentines/Use some Red

Our Sponsors this week are:-

Bugaboo who are offering
7 Images from their store

Stitchy Bear Stamps who are offering
$10 Gift Certificate for images from
Stitchy, Coosty and Hope Jacare Doodles

Di's Digi Downloads who are offering
$12 Gift Certificate for their store

My project for this week is:-

Love Apple Tree digi stamp
from Hope Jacare Doodles at Stitchy Bear Stamps
(one of our sponsors)

To begin with I cut my base Card from
 A4 White Pearlised Card
(Ross Papers)
folded it in to 3 parts to make a tent card.
and trimmed it down to make it 14cm wide.

I then used my Heart dies
(Sizzix Framelits (6pk))
and die-cut out on Red Card
(stash)
1 Large, 1 3rd Smallest and 2 Smallest.
And from some plain white decopage paper
die cut out 3rd Smallest and 1 Smallest inside it.
and for my sentiment I typed it out
using my Greeting Card Factory
(in English 111 Presto BT Font),
then die cut it using the 2nd Smallest Heart.

I then coloured in my Image twice,
and the Double Cut Heart
using my Promarker Pens.
I then Decopaged up the Image.

For the main part of the card
I placed the Large Red Heart so that it
'Popped' up and placed the
coloured cut out heart at the bottom of it.
I then placed my decopaged Tree
so it filled the right 'cheek' of the heart.

Using a 6 x 14 cm wide piece
of White Pearlised Card,
I wrapped a 2.5cm strip of White Lace
(Boyes Haberdashery)
Then placed on my Medium Red Heart
layered with my sentiment,
and the 2 small Red Hearts,
and stuck it to the bottom of the card
so the 'Tent' could stand up.

To finish my card off I used some
Lime Green Ribbon
(Boyes Haberdashery)
which I made into a Bow.
and added some Medium Flat-back Clear Crystals
(stash)
as an accent to the large heart.
And as a Border at the bottom I alternatively spaced
some Large flat-back Clear Crystals
(stash)
and some very small hearts
(which I had saved from leftovers from
an X-cut Heart Boarder Punch).
